Sedona Devil Chicken: Home
"This is a Story of a Chupacabra with Vampire hunger and the three people who survive its wrath."
THE SEDONA DEVIL CHICKEN is a thrilling and humorous parody of the movie JAWS, set in the high desert of Sedona, Arizona. Based on an old southwestern legend of the Chupacabra (something like bigfoot but nastier) and the now infamous Coffee Pot Rock, which some say looks more like a giant chicken than a coffee pot. Somehow, these two items may be related - and so the story unfolds.
The story is written and produced in the style of "Radio Theater" or "Radio Drama." What is that you may ask? It's like sitting through a movie with your eyes closed. You create the pictures in your head and now become an active participant in the experience. We take that experience and add interesting voices, accents, sound effects, and music to help move the story forward. Your imagination fills in the missing pieces. We're excited about this form of entertainment and are happy to present it to you.
Legend has it that some 50 years ago a tremendous bolt of lightning crashed down on one of Sedona's most famous vortexes, located in Boynton Canyon, and caused a horrific transformation. The transformation resulted in an animal part Dinosaur part Chicken - a Dino Chicken. CHICKEN CHARLIE (Lynn Johnson) who was around at this time told a story of a giant chupacabra like creature that terrorized the Sedona area killing people and livestock. Could the recent trail deaths be attributed to a second coming of the DEVIL CHICKEN an Arizona Chupacabra? That’s what POLICE CHIEF HAWK (Alex Nebelsky), CHEYENNE COOPER (Dia Morgan), and TRAPPER (Alex Nebelsky) set out to prove. CHIEF HAWK leads his team to an eventful showdown. With a terrific supporting cast of local talent, this amazing story builds in excitement until the very end. Alex Nebelsky, who also composed and performed parts of the soundtrack, creates a marvelous battle between good and evil. It’s loads of fun and is sure to be a classic must have for tourists and locals. The story covers everything near and dear to Sedona including vortexes, hiking trails, Coffee Pot Rock, Slide Rock, Boynton Canyon, Flagstaff, jeep tours, a mountain man and much more.
The CD was written, directed and produced by Sedona resident Alex E. Nebelsky. It's available online at CD BABY or at local retail outlets in Sedona, AZ and surrounding communities.
